Abstract:
We have developed numerical methods to study the orbital and spin pairing interactions of Superconductivity and Ferromagnetism. A highly efficient method for solving the Ginzburg Landau equations was developed to study the orbital effects with emphasis on the Abrikosov vortex state. Bogoliubov-de Gennes formalism was applied to finite momentum spin singlet pairing to develop spin polarized quasiparticles. These quasiparticles were then used to study possible Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov states.
