"Top Dileptons at the Tevatron and Beyond"
Since
the discovery of the top quark in 1995, experimental attention has to turned to
examination of its production and
decay properties. I will present a measurement of the ttbar production
cross
section in the dilepton decay channel using 197 pb-1 data recorded by
CDF in
Run II of the Tevatron, which is roughly twice the size of the Run I
data
sample used in the top discovery. Top dileptons produce a distinctive
experimental signature with small Standard Model backgrounds.
Consequently,
they provide an ideal laboratory in which to perform further studies of
the
properties of the top quark in larger Run II data samples or at the
LHC. I will
briefly discuss these further studies and their significance for
physics in the
LHC era.
