Title: Recent
Experimental Studies on Photo-atom scattering in the X-Ray energy region
An
overview of our recent measurements of the elastic and inelastic scattering
differential cross-sections in the photon energy range 14-88 KeV for elements in the atomic region Z = 1-92 at backward
scattering angles will be presented. In these measurements special emphasis was
given to elements having K/Li shell/sub shell binding energy in the vicinity of
the incident photon energy. The measured elastic cross-sections were compared
with the existing theoretical values obtained in the IPA through calculations of
modified relativistic form factors (MFs), a combinations of MFs and angle
independent anomalous scattering factors (ASFs),
and the relativistic second order S-matrix. The measured inelastic are compared
with those calculated using the relativistic Klein-Nishina
cross-sections and the non-relativistic Hartree-Fock
incoherent scattering Functions (ISFs).
Investigations on the KL and KM resonant Raman scattering (RRS) of the 59.536 KeV photons for Yb, Lu and Hf will also be presented.
